Join Community Action of Allegan County in supporting our clients this holiday season!
Community Action of Allegan County (CAAC) will be kicking off the holiday giving season on Monday, November 15th with its yearly collection of gifts and household necessities for seniors and families that will go to our clients living in Allegan County.
The agency will be delivering holiday bags to over 100 homebound senior citizens throughout Allegan County. Many seniors in Allegan County do not have family or friends to celebrate the holidays with. Sometimes the only contact they have with people are with our Home Delivered Meal or Volunteer Transportation drivers. The small bag of gifts we are able to provide them means so much as it is often their only holiday gift.
For the past several years CAAC has teamed up with Michigan State Police for their Stuff the Blue Goose Event. The event allows shoppers to donate new, unwrapped toys to low-income families. In addition to toys and clothes for children, the event has been an opportunity for families to receive other donations as well: including household basics such as toilet paper, gifts for adults and wrapping paper. This year, the Stuff the Blue Goose event will be held on December 11th from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Walmart in Plainwell.
CAAC looks forward to continuing these two events this year through a combined effort. The Be Community Action Holiday Giving Drive will run from November 15th through December 13th and will benefit both groups of clients.
If you are able to donate any of the items from the list below we and our clients would be most grateful. We ask that all donations be in new condition and not be already gift wrapped.
