Early Education Services is accepting applications for fall enrollment!
Community Action of Allegan County Early Education operates the Early Head Start and Head Start programs for the county. Our program serves income-eligible families across the county, including pregnant women and children through up to age 5, providing high-quality child development and preschool to qualified families at no cost.
The focus of Early Education Services is on the family as a whole, implementing a two-generational approach that focuses on children’s social-emotional skills, physical health, cognitive skills, and family relationships to prepare children for school and beyond. Early Head Start offers child development programming for pregnant women and children 0 – 3, consisting mainly of a home visiting program and an Early Childhood Center in Plainwell. Head Start on the other hand, is mostly center based, with classrooms across the county in: Allegan, Fennville, Hopkins, Otsego, Martin, Plainwell and Pullman.
We accept children of all abilities. Transportation may be available for Head Start classrooms. To qualify for Early Education Services, families must meet income requirements and live or work in Allegan County, or in a school district served by the Allegan Area Educational Service Agency. Children must be 3 or 4-years old by September 1 to qualify for Head Start classrooms. Visit AlleganCountyPreschool.org to complete an interest form, or call (269) 673-5472;237 for more information.
