Notice of Public Comment on Proposed FY 2026 Community Services Block Grant Plan. Community Action of Allegan County will accept public comments as required by the Department of Health and Human Services for the CSBG State Plan for FY 2027. Public comments will be accepted on the FY 2027 CSBG proposed plan beginning 9:00 a.m. May 21, 2026, and ending at 3:00 p.m. June 23, 2026.
The plan summary is as follows: A total of $209,568 is planned to be utilized in Allegan County for the general purposes of Emergency Food Assistance; Weatherization; Information and Referral; Utility Assistance; Outreach; Housing; Skilled Trades Training; Volunteer Driver Transportation; Home Delivered Meals. These programs are for eligible citizens in Allegan County. Community Action of Allegan County (CAAC) announces a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Comprehensive Community Needs Assessment from qualified Vendors to collect appropriate and relevant data, evaluate the needs in the community as well as within CAAC, analyze any reasons for identified gaps in services including opportunities for improvement, disparities and suggest possible interventions in a manner that will allow CAAC to measure sustained advances and outcomes in the future.

The bids will be presented to the Community Action of Allegan County Board as well as the Head Start Policy Council at the next meeting for consideration and any award. Notification of any award will be provided to the successful bidder only following board approval.

Allegan County Resource Development Committee, Inc. dba Community Action of Allegan County (CAAC) invites proposals for Construction of 4 Temporary Classrooms for Early Education Services. Construction site will be located in the middle of Allegan County, located in the State of Michigan. Read the full RFP here.
Proposals conforming to the requirements set out below must be received by CAAC by U.S. mail, courier or email to mnoorman@communityactionallegan.org no later than the deadline given above. Proposals must state that they are valid for a period of at least thirty (60) days from the closing deadline.
CAAC reserves the right to waive any irregularities in submitted proposals and to reject any or all bids. CAAC also reserves the right to negotiate with the selected bidder.
Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified may be considered at the discretion of CAAC.
Modifications to bids already submitted will be allowed if submitted in writing prior to the time fixed in the Request for Proposals.
